Sweden can sum up a fantastic summer Olympics in Paris. Many blue-and-yellow athletes have exceeded expectations and brought medals home to Sweden.
Swedish Olympic gold
In total, there were 11 Swedish medals this year and the entire championship ended in the best way when the Swedish success duo David Ohman and Jonathan Hellvig won a very impressive Olympic beach volleyball gold late Saturday night. So incredibly well deserved for two athletes who have been so hugely successful over the past two years.

The Swedish Olympic gold in beach volleyball was also absolutely decisive for Sweden to pass Norway in the medal league. And with that, Sweden also became the Nordic country that won the most medals this Olympics, a feat that the Swedes have not achieved since the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.
The mockery of Norway
Of course the duo Åhman/Hellvig enjoyed it extra and sent a cheeky taunt to the Norwegians.
– Yes, so good!, says the duo in chorus to Expressen and clenches their fists.
– That was the most important thing, says Åhman with a laugh.
– There is a bit of a rivalry between Norway and Sweden on the beach. So it’s not just about skiing and the like, but that there is also a really good Norwegian team on the beach. So we can have those fights there too.

However, the Norwegian beach volleyball team missed out on the Olympic final and had to settle for an Olympic bronze. Therefore, it must sting extra that it was the blue-and-yellow rivals who won the Olympic gold in the final against Germany.
– Yes, it would have been a dream final and something that I think everyone had been looking forward to. But now we are quite happy with how it went anyway, says Åhman about a possible final against Norway in particular.
