The World Cup competitions in Trondheim did not go completely painlessly.
Something that did not go unnoticed by the Swedish riders.
– I was actually thinking more about the Norwegians, says Moa Lundgren to Sportbladet.
The successful Swedish results continue to roll into the World Cup. In the weekend’s three competitions in Trondheim, there were a total of four podium places, and Calle Halfvarsson was very close after a fourth place.
World Cup criticism
The four podium places were, among other things Ebba Andersson for, with her victory in the skiathlon plus her third place in the 10 kilometer classic. It was too Lynn Svahn and Emma Ribom which delivered, as they took second and third place in the sprint.

In the spring of 2025, the World Ski Championships will be arranged in Trondheim. This weekend’s World Cup competitions were therefore called the “trial WC”, but everything did not go perfectly. Environmental activists took to the tracks during the men’s skiathlon, the sprint course was criticized by the Norwegian Paul Golbergand the traffic around the city and the arena was criticized.
Svahn’s dick
Besides, it wasn’t the crowd party that had been talked about before. None of the days reached the audience figure of more than 3,000 people. From the Norwegian side, it was blamed on the poor value, but it doesn’t buy Moa Lundgren.
– I’m actually a bit disappointed. I was thinking more about the Norwegians actually. There is better pressure in Östersund. The weather was pretty bad in Östersund, but a 5000 showed up. I think they have to work on this a bit, says Lundgren to Sportbladet.

Moa Ilar however, is not surprised.
– There is usually such a small crowd when we compete in Norway, which is strange considering the interest in skiing, so it’s sad. I hope it will be better next year, says Ilar.

Moa Lundgren believes that the audience problem will be solved at the WC with the Swedish audience coming and cheering. It agrees Lynn Svahn if.
– I think that the people of Östersund will come here next year and cheer Sweden on, so then there will probably be more pressure, I think. There was an atmosphere last weekend, so we get to draw them here and support us a little, says Svahn to the evening newspaper.
