In November, draft oracle Craig Button made his latest rankings ahead of the NHL draft.
But after the JVM was played, some things have changed.
Not least for a specific Swede who has lifted considerably in the expert’s eyes.
Unthreatened as one is the Canadian prodigy Connor Bedard which was a strong contributing factor to Canada taking home the gold in the JVM. But if you ignore Canadians for a moment, there are several Swedish delights on that list as the draft expert Craig Button put together.
The Swedish lift
As high as third place is the first Swedish player in the form of a super talent Leo Carlsson, which was also in third place even before the JVM was played. But with his six points in seven games in the tournament, it is only reasonable that Carlsson keeps his place.

The next Swede on the list is a player who has made a real lift on the list, where after the JVM he picked a whopping 17 places. It’s about none other than the hill Axel Sandin Pellikka. The Skellefteå player changes place 27 for place 10, and even though there was only one point during the JVM, Pellikka impressed with his play.

Axel Sandin Pellikka is thus ranked as the best defenseman ahead of this year’s NHL draft, and he is highly praised by expert Craig Button.
– I think it is one of the best backs in the draft. It is a very good combination of skating, smartness, playing skill and poise. It is a player who can make a big difference for his team, says Craig Button to TSN.
