Stekhet group final between Sweden and the USA in the hockey World Cup.
Nasty images then came after only five minutes.
– These are not funny pictures. Completely idiotic, says the expert Jonas Andersson in SVT.
Tre Kronor went into the group final against the USA who were undefeated after great victories in the hockey World Cup. It would also start in the best way with an early 1-0 goal.
The ugly tackle
But before that came disturbing images from below the ice when the Swedish star Rasmus Sandin had to be led off after a nasty bang. Just five minutes into the first period, one overfired Michael Eyssimont in both tough and unnecessary with a knee tackle against Sandin.

The Swede fell to the ice in great pain and there were really strong reactions after the ugly tackle.
– Ouch ouch ouch. That is really ugly, really ugly. That should be a match penalty, says the SVT expert Jonas Andersson in the broadcast.
– These are not funny pictures. Sandin is an absolute key player for Tre Kronor. A completely idiotic tackle.

At the same time as concern grew considerably for Sandin’s well-being.
– It could be some kind of cruciate ligament injury, it’s hard to say. But it’s a real blow that can be a serious knee injury, says the SVT expert Mikael Renberg in the broadcast.
– Completely expected decision, a given match penalty, but it will be a bitter aftertaste and I hope there is nothing serious with Rasmus Sandin, says colleague Andersson.

Even in Tre Kronor’s booth, a clear anger was aroused for what happened to Rasmus Sandin.
– The teammates were quite pissed off, reports SVT Maria Rooth which is in place right next to the booth.
