The Swedish Football Association opens up for Caroline Seger

Caroline Seger’s time in the Swedish national team is over. Now the Swedish Football Association hopes that she wants to step into a role at the association.

– That Caroline Seger has meant a lot to Swedish football, I think we all agree on that. It is clear that we will have a discussion about what we can do and how she sees the future. I will definitely get in touch, says SvFF’s new football manager Kim Källström.

What role could that be?

– We will find a role, but we have to see what she feels and what she wants, he says.

Opens up to more previous players

General secretary Andrea Möllerberg believes that it is very important to look at players who have been active in national team football for a long time.

– With their skills and knowledge, they have a lot to add, if they want to be involved. I really hope that it is something we will work with in the future.

Which role would suit her best?

– It’s probably more what Caroline wants to do with us, so I’ll see if I can “map” it. But I see her leadership qualities that she had in the national team and stood up for everything, those qualities are very exciting in our organization.

Victory: “Let’s see what doors open”

After yesterday’s match against Spain, Seger told SVT Sport that she doesn’t really know what she wants to do right now.

– I will continue to play football in Rosengård, but then we will see what doors open. It must be some job I can give back to, she said then.

SVT Sport is looking for Caroline Seger for a new commentary.
