NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg answers the question about what kind of member of the military alliance Sweden will be.
– Sweden will be a dedicated member, because that’s what Sweden is, dedicated to international cooperation.
Stoltenberg praises Sweden’s defense budget, which exceeds 2 percent of the entire country’s gross domestic product. However, Stoltenberg reminds that the entire military alliance must increase defense spending so that the alliance can respond to the changed security situation.
Stoltenberg also answers a question about Ukraine and the country’s NATO aspirations.
– Ukraine will become a NATO ally. It’s closer than ever before. We ensure this by coordinating the armed forces of Ukraine with NATO cooperation.
According to Stoltenberg, it is no longer a question of whether Ukraine will become a member of NATO, but a question of when Ukraine will become a member of NATO.
