“The Swedish Fencing Association has decided that fencers representing Sweden shall not participate in competitions at the Nordic, European or international level that allow the participation of the Russian Federation or the Republic of Belarus, either as individuals or teams,” the association writes on its website where they also mention certain exceptions.
In its position, the union takes up principled positions and lists sanctions they have decided on.
Two months ago, the International Fencing Federation voted in favor of the proposal to admit participants from Russia and Belarus into international competition.
