With his books about crime and dysfunctional families, Mattias Edvardsson has become an international bestseller. While waiting for the Netflix film adaptation of the book “An ordinary family” to premiere, he is now publishing the book “Promise me silence”.
– It feels fantastic, he says.
Mattias Edvardsson started as a high school teacher writing books for young adults and then children’s books before focusing on psychological thrillers.
He has already written half a draft of the next book and is now waiting for the TV series based on “An ordinary family” to premiere on Netflix this fall.
– It is surely every writer’s dream to see their work made into a film and not least that it is done on Netflix, that you then get to reach the whole world.
“I play myself”
Edvardsson has been highly involved in the Netflix project.
– After all, I got to be involved and agree on the script, casting and where the series should be filmed.
He is also given a small, small role in the series.
– Yes, I play myself. But you have to be pretty sharp-sighted to see me, he says and laughs.
Now Edvardsson is hoping for a successful premiere.
– I have seen a couple of episodes. It looks promising. They stay close to the book.
