Henrik Stenson has switched to the criticized LIV tour.
It has caused the Swedish golf club to think twice about its collaboration with the star.

Henrik Stenson is undoubtedly Sweden’s greatest golfer on the men’s side of all time. The 46-year-old has been huge in the sport for a long time, and last year was given one of the most prestigious assignments a golfer could imagine.
Started a collaboration
He captained Europe’s Ryder Cup team, but a title he recently relinquished following his decision to join the LIV tour. It is financed by a Saudi investment company that has connections to the Saudi state – and Henrik Stenson has had to withstand harsh criticism.
About six months ago, Borås Golfklubb told us that they entered into a collaboration with Henrik Stenson. The club invests hard to become the best in western Sweden, and were now disappointed by the Swedish star’s choice to join the LIV tour.
– We were a bit taken aback when this came. We got heads up the day before, but didn’t have more time to think than that before it started to storm, says club manager Marcus Håkansson.
Can now break the collaboration
Henrik Stenson lost the captain’s role in the Ryder Cup, and now it also happens that the Borås club can break with the Swede – but no decision has yet been made.
– We’ll see, but it’s not impossible, says Håkansson and goes on to say that they have now received negative views on their collaboration with the Swede:
– There is a lot of storming on social media and forums and in the media. Some members have had views and opinions regarding continued collaboration.
– Everyone was very surprised. He has taken on the role of captain of the Ryders Cup team. It is among the finest assignments one can get towards the end of one’s career. It is a little surprising that he himself chooses to make this decision.
