In 2002, Gunilla Persson had her daughter Erika Perssonand she has previously told The evening paper that it was thanks to his father that the little life came into the world.
– He got sick and passed away in a year. I usually say that it was dad who arranged a deal with Jesus and made sure I got Erika. He knew how much I needed a child, I was 40 plus, so he arranged with God for me to have a child, she told the newspaper.

Today, Erika Persson is 21 years old, and just like her mother, she lives in Los Angeles. But during the winter of 2024, Erika Persson has been more than usual in Sweden. The reason? That mother Gunilla has participated in Melodifestivalen 2024. With her song and country song “I Won’t Shake (La La Gunilla)”, Gunilla Persson has become one of the biggest talkers among the starting field in this year’s Mello.
Those who have so far made it directly to the final in Melodifestivalen 2024 are so far Smash Into Pieces, Lisa Ajax, Maria Sur, Liamoo, Cazzi Opeia, Jacqueline, Danny Saucedo and Daughter.
Gunilla Persson, on the other hand, managed to get to the qualifying final, where she will fight for a final place against, among others Elisa Lindström, Adam Woods, Scarlett and Miss Snusk.

After Gunilla had achieved an impressive fourth place in competition 3, she, just like the other artists, partied at the after party. Gunilla Persson celebrated with bubbles, dancing and another performance with her kiosk tumbler to a song.

Her daughter Erika Persson was also at the after-party, who also celebrated on stage with her mother. Just days before the qualifying finals hit News24 Erika Persson on the red carpet, and took the opportunity to ask her about the fabled after-party. Erika Persson then told that it was a certain well-known name that made an extra strong impression during the evening.
Did you party with a celebrity you recognize? Another of the artists perhaps?
– Yes, everyone was there. And I love Cazzi Opeia. She is very sweet and cute. I love her. We danced a little bit, so I love that.
