The Celtic player picked up two yellow cards and was sent off against Dutch side Feyenoord in the first match of the group stage.
The 23-year-old Lagerbielke was recruited to the Scottish big club Celtic in August from Allsvenskan Elfsborg.
Celtic, and Premier League-winning manager Brendan Rodgers, had a nightmare night. They lost the match 0–2 and also had two players sent off, partly Gustaf Lagerbielke, partly Norwegian Odin Thiago Holm.
In the same group, Atletico Madrid and Lazio played 1–1.
