The Swede is now the best in the entire NHL after another successful game last night.
Jesper Bratt has made huge strides in recent years and ahead of this year’s NHL season, he was high on many experts’ lists of forwards who are likely to have a giant breakthrough this season. And they weren’t wrong either. Initially, Bratt has played the hockey of his life, and it also shows in the scoring league.
Tops the points league
Bratt was already high in points scored before tonight’s game against the Detroit Red Wings. And then Bratt stepped forward even further and showed that he really will be counted on this year. At the beginning of the second period, he scored the first goal of the night with a good power play shot, and at the end of the third period, he took the puck out on a counterattack and rattled in his second of the night. Successful start
With his twelve goals in seven games played, Bratt tops the entire NHL scoring list, along with New York Rangers Artemi Panarin and Boston Bruins David Pastrnak. With nine forward plays during the start of the season, Bratt is also alone in the lead in the assist league. In addition, the most notable thing from the night’s game was that Bratt was noted for three pongs in not even 13 minutes of ice time – significantly lower than other competitors high up in the scoring league.
Bratt’s New Jersey Devils also won the game 6-2 against Detroit, which otherwise started the season well. The Devils have started the season above expectations, and this was the team’s fourth win in the opening seven games.
– It is good for the whole group and our confidence. Every game we get around 40 shots off and it’s nice to see a lot of guys on the scoresheet, says Bratt afterwards.
