Tax refund 2024: Most people want to save

The survey shows that most people actually want to put away the money that comes with the refund, but that it is not always possible. According to Stefan Westerberg who is a private economist at Länsförsäkringar, it depends on how good the household’s finances are.

– Many have lived through a difficult period and if the buffer is in place, it can be nice to treat yourself to something fun, such as a trip or something extra for the family. At the same time, there are many who are likely to spend the money on household expenses, which remain at high levels, says Westerberg, in a press release.
