A Ukrainian lawmaker said a woman with a swastika stamp was found on her body as the latest evidence of war crimes committed by Russian troops. Lesia Vasylenko, a parliamentarian from the liberal Holos party, shared an image on Twitter that she said was the ‘tortured body of a raped and murdered woman’.
Vasylenko shared, “Russian soldiers loot, rape and kill… Women with swastika burns. Russia. Russian men did this,” he said.
The image shared by the Liberal Holos parliamentarian shows a naked body covered with bruises. The skin of the trunk is etched into a large Swastika symbol.
Although it is not clear exactly when and where the image was taken, it turned out that pro-Russian users on social media had shared the image before. Pro-Russian users claim that it was the Ukrainian army’s Azov Battalion, known for its Neo-Nazism affiliations, that carved the swastika on the woman’s skin.
Eerie footage from the cities of Bucha and Irpin shows the bodies of hundreds of civilians left on the streets and buried in mass graves.
Putin has long claimed that one of the goals of his ‘special military operation’ is to ‘de-Nazify’ Ukraine, telling his soldiers that the country is run by fascists.
