An unexpected kiss by Peter Settman at the 2008 Sports Gala.
Charlotte Kalla has opened up about the feelings after the approach.
Now she receives heartbreaking support from the SVT profile.
Charlotte Kalla really broke through in 2008 after she won the Tour de Ski, aged 21. An achievement for which she was awarded the Jerring Prize. Thus, Kalla found himself at his first Sports Gala that same year. During a sequence of the gala, the presenter came Peter Settmanthen 39 years old, came forward and kissed the skiing star.

There and then there were no major oddities. Kalla looks shocked but starts laughing along with the rest of the athletes present and the crowd. After the gala, the 21-year-old also did not say anything outstanding about the incident, and the same from Peter Settman’s side. But in his new autobiography “Shame on the giver”, Kalla opens up about his real thoughts after the kiss.

The 36-year-old writes:
“He really took me by surprise. What I was involved in live in front of an audience of millions felt outrageous and reprehensible. My integrity took a real hit and I thought, ‘God, what a pain.'”
“I got really angry but didn’t know how to behave. Was I even allowed to be angry? Could I get up and go? Those thoughts swirled. I was expected to laugh. So I laughed.”
Nice support
Peter Settman has now responded that he feels bad about his actions and apologizes. He also explains that it was not planned but improvisation on his part.

Now Kalla receives support from the SVT profile Marie Lehmann.
“To Charlotte Kalla 20 years – sorry, I should have asked how you experienced the situation,” writes the sports journalist on Twitter/X.

Lehmann has worked at SVT since the 1990s, with, among others, ‘Sportspegeln’, ‘Lilla Sportspegeln’ and ‘Sportnytt’. She was also at the Sports Gala that evening, and continues in the tweet:
“I should have told you that whatever you wanted to do and however you wanted to react, I and so many others would have supported,” writes Lehmann.
