The suspicion of a serious ethical violation related to the coach of Ulvila’s Pesä-Veikkou women’s team will be processed by the Sports Ethics Disciplinary Board.

– One of the things that makes the case a serious ethical violation is that it was a subordinate relationship. The perpetrator has been a coach, the target has been half a dozen athletes coached by him, and the activity has continued for a long time, says Juha-Mikko Hämäläinen, who submitted the disciplinary requirements, in SUEK’s press release.
According to the investigation material, the violations took place between 2019 and 2023. The joint disciplinary regulations for physical activity and sports regarding serious inappropriate behavior and serious ethical violations came into force in 2022, so the disciplinary requirement only applies to activities that occurred after this.

The suspicion of harassment became public in the summer, when the club requested an investigation into the matter to the police and the Finnish Sports Ethics Center.
