When witnesses raised the alarm about a Tesla falling 76 meters down a cliff in California on Monday, it was thought to be another fatal accident. The steep coastal area known as the “Devils Slide” is known for accidents with a fatal outcome.

In the car were a four-year-old girl and a nine-year-old boy and two adults.

The car doors had been smashed against the cliff and the four were trapped but against all odds alive.

The adults had to be cut out and taken away by helicopter due to internal injuries. The children were lifted out through the rear window and hoisted up the mountain.

All four were in stable condition after the miracle rescue and Tesla founder Elon Musk tweeted about “good news”.

But on Tuesday, the story took an eerie turn when the 41-year-old father of the family was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, writes CNN.
