The suspects abused and even sacrificed puppies – the police

The police accuse the detainees of animal cruelty, fraud, illegal occupation, falsification of documents and participation in the activities of a criminal organization.

The Spanish National Police has arrested eight people in Madrid and Girona for illegally breeding and selling puppies.

These were puppies from Slovakia and Hungary, which they abused and even sacrificed. That’s what a Spaniard says El Mundo magazine.

More than a hundred dogs were rescued in four raids. In addition, bone remains of animals were found buried in the ground, the Spanish police say, according to the newspaper.

Medicines for euthanizing dogs and cats, prescription books, medicines and passports, stamps and cards from the veterinarian and 3,000 euros in cash were also confiscated from the arrested.

The police have frozen the bank accounts and deposits that the arrested had in four financial institutions.

Races and ages were faked

The criminal group specialized in importing puppies and selling them in Spain with forged papers. The puppies’ ages were faked to be older because they weren’t yet of donation age.

At least some of the puppies suffered from ailments and diseases that were not reported to the buyers. Some puppies died soon after being sold.

In addition to importing puppies, the authors also bought puppies from breeders from different parts of Spain. It was also agreed with them about changing the age and even the breed of the puppies in the documents.

Those arrested put the puppies up for sale on e-commerce platforms or on the website of the organization they founded.

According to information from the Spanish police, over 500 animals, mostly puppies, have been rescued in the last six months in connection with operations carried out in different parts of Spain.
