A man was indicted and imprisoned twenty-five years after the murder of Ginette Naime, a mother brutally killed in 2000 in the Var.

On April 13, 2000, the body of Ginette Naime was found with stab wounds on the Chemin du Gros Cerveau, in Ollioules, in the Var. Arrested Tuesday morning in Toulon, the man who still lived in La Seyne-sur-Mer, confessed during his custody, carried out by police officers from the Central Office for the Repression of Violence against Persons (OCRVP) . The suspect trapped by scientific evidence
According to the hypothesis favored by the investigators, the individual attacked Ginette Naime as she left a municipal social action center in La Seyne-sur-Mer with the help of a knife. He allegedly climbed into the forty-year-old’s car and forced her to make two money withdrawals from a BNP branch. After which, he would have killed his victim and disposed of his body on the way to the Big Brain.
Investigators traced this man thanks to testimonies, but also genetic analyses. Thus, a former employee of the social center would have succeeded in identifying the individual, who was hanging around at the time of the events in the surrounding area with other drug addicts, among around sixty suspects who were proposed to him on a board of portraits. A scientific analysis then made it possible to establish a partial match between the suspect’s DNA and a genetic fingerprint found under the victim’s nails as well as on the steering wheel of the vehicle, according to The Parisian. The suspect was placed in pre-trial detention, reports BFMTV.
