The new trailer for Dune: Awakening provides further insights into the gameplay of the survival mm. The focus is actually on the endgame desert, but a feature is much more present: the ornithopters. Meinmmo introduces you to the new trailer and its content.
What kind of game is that? Dune: Awakening is a multiplayer survival game that plays in the desert of the fictional planet Arrakis (known from the books and films). According to publisher Funcom, the game should appear for Steam on May 20, 2025.
In the new trailer, which was released on March 13, 2025, basic game mechanics are presented and have not yet existed insights from the extensive world:

What can be seen in the trailer? In the video it becomes clear how cleverly explore is rewarded: Anyone who dares into the desert will discover new sites and can share this knowledge with others.
Cropped aids support you that make the search for important resources enormously simplify. So there are probes with which you can mark interesting points from the air. A special scan-mechanism makes raw materials and treasures visible in still undiscovered areas.
How to use huge robo drivers: Those who want to reduce them efficiently and, especially in the desert, will not be able to avoid a gadget at some point: ornithopters. For us, the robo drafts are the real high-flyer from the trailer. These are flying transport ships based on the appearance of a dragonfly. You can see the extent of the entire map from the cockpit and get from A to B faster. This is also necessary because the map is constantly changing.
What about the changeable map? Huge storms regularly sweep over the desert and constantly change the landscape. But that doesn’t have to be a bad thing, because this results in new places for treasures and raw materials for you every week. So you have an incentive every week to go back to exploration.
The deep desert is the global endgame area, in which there is constantly open PvP. If you try to get to Spice here, you have to be careful not to be crazy by other players – if only because the other needs your blood to gain water from it.
What can you also expect in Dune Awakening? As in most survival games, you have to use your collected raw materials to build a shelter or to improve your equipment such as your suit or weapons. You will need them to defy the dangers in the desert.
