Hardly any superhero film has exploited the crazy possibilities of the multiverse as much as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The animated Marvel hit was a superhero experience that was so visually and narratively designed that the blockbuster landed at number 1 in the joint film top 10 of Moviepilot and FILMSTARTS last year.
The sequel Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse unfortunately had to be postponed to 2025 due to the large amount of animation work, but fans will now see some creative consolation. The Special short film with a horror twist can be streamed for free without a subscription.

The Marvel spin-off was directed by Jarelle Dampier and revolves around Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), who after a particularly hard day experiences a panic attack that forces him to confront the manifestations of his fear. The seven-minute Spider-Man short film was given scary horror elements in order to expand the superhero universe in an original way with fresh approaches.
The director of The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story told The Wrap last year that the short film was inspired by his own panic attacks and recurring sleep paralysis.
When does Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse start in cinemas?
The third feature film in the animated superhero universe is released sometime in 2025. An exact date has not yet been announced.
