The Supreme Court does not prevent the release of Trump’s tax information – the issue has been fought for years

The Supreme Court does not prevent the release of Trumps

The US Supreme Court has ruled that a House committee has the right to see former President Donald Trump’s tax records.

The U.S. Supreme Court will not block a House committee from accessing the former president Donald Trump’s to tax information. The committee has requested to see six years of tax records to determine whether Trump has followed tax laws.

Trump had asked the Supreme Court to block the release of the information. The matter has been pending for three years, and during Trump’s presidency, the Ministry of Finance refused to release tax information. President Joe Biden however, according to the administration, federal law clearly states that the committee has the right to examine anyone’s tax records, including the president. Courts have lined up behind this view.

Presidents have already announced their taxes since the 70s

Unlike presidents since the 1970s, Trump refused to release his tax returns while in office. Joe Biden published his own tax information in 2020 even before the first election debate.

Trump’s party, the Republicans, will take over the majority of the House of Representatives from the Democrats in January based on the results of the midterm elections. It is estimated that the Republican-controlled House of Representatives does not want to examine Trump’s tax records, so the committee may be in a hurry to process the information.

According to Trump’s lawyers, the real goal of the committee is to publish Trump’s tax information and cause him political damage.
