Elvira Öberg goes home from the WC with several medals.
At least super icon Ole Einar Björndalen thinks so.
Elvira Öberg has had a truly fabulous season behind her and she goes to the WC with great medal hopes. Öberg has had a giant breakthrough in the last year, and is one of the big giants of the biathlon world.
Big medal hope
Despite her young age, Elvira has already had time to make a big impression during the Olympics, and when the WC now begins on Wednesday, there are many who hope that the success will be repeated. And so it will be, if one of the biathlon world’s greatest of all time is to be believed.
Ole Einar Björndalen is perhaps the best biathlete of all time, and now he works as an expert on Norwegian TV2. Ahead of the WC, which begins with the mixed relay on Wednesday afternoon, Björndalen has given his verdict on how it goes in all of the WC’s races, and if the Norwegian is to be believed, it will be a fantastic championship for the Swedish superstar.

Wonderful judgment
To begin with, Björndalen believes that Sweden will win a medal in the opening mixed relay on Wednesday, then in third place behind France and Norway. When it’s time for the women’s sprint on Friday, Björndalen believes in another medal for Elvira, then second behind the German Denise Herrmann-Wick. One of the major highlights of the championship is the women’s relay, which takes place on February 18, and there Björndalen believes in Swedish gold.
In conclusion, Björndalen believes in further success for Elvira Öberg in the final competition of the championship, the mass start. There, he believes in silver for Elvira – which would mean a total of four medals, one of which is gold, for Öberg. We are really keeping our fingers crossed that Björndalen gets it right!
