The students are paid by the principal not to vandalize

The toilets at Furulidskolan in Aneby have been subjected to sabotage several times. Doors have been kicked in and students have kicked in water traps for sinks. Something that has also led to extensive water leaks.

Now the principal at the school has now had enough.

That’s how much money the students get

In order to overcome the vandalism, a new unusual approach is now being taken as the principal has signed a contract with the school’s student council.

Namely, the students receive SEK 150 for each day without vandalism. Money that they can use to do something fun for.

For every day that the contract is broken and there is vandalism in the school’s premises, the sum of money burns inside.

Have so far drawn in thousands

During the semester, there is a total of SEK 13,000 in the pot. The students have so far managed to collect SEK 3,750.

– Littering has decreased and in general it has become calmer and safer, says the principal to Smålands-Tidningen.

All events that have resulted in the student council losing money are presented on a notice board in the school cafeteria. Currently, they have lost SEK 2,100, equivalent to 14 days.
