Fackförbundet Municipal and employer organizations Sweden’s municipalities and regions (SKR) and Sobona agree.

There will therefore be no strike.

The agreement means that the members receive central salary increases of SEK 985. They should also have arrived at “long-term solutions for salary processes and working hours”, writes the union in a press release.

– Of course Kommunal would have wanted more, but the agreement is a clear step in the right direction, says chairman Malin Ragnegård in the press release.

The agreement affects 550,000 employees.

– I am satisfied that we managed to sign an agreement where the parties will together develop long-term solutions to the major problems the members experience with today’s salary system and the lack of sustainable working hours. Had the counterparty been more responsive, we would not have had to notify of conflict to achieve this result, says Ragnegård.

Kommunal announced a strike for 5,000 of its members in a total of 750 workplaces. It would take effect from tomorrow morning, if the parties had not agreed now.
