The streaming service’s biggest Nordic venture is recorded in Rismyrliden outside Skellefteå

Gustaf Skarsgård plays the priest Læstadius who, together with the Sami boy Jussi, played by Emil Ráste Kárlsen, investigates a mysterious death. The scenes recorded in Rismyrliden are supposed to represent Kengis in Tornedalen in 1852.

“The right place”

– This particular place had a lot of what we were looking for. There is a meadow and stunning exteriors. But most important of all is a barn on location that is perfect for an important scene in the series, says Miira Paasilinna, producer.

Follow along behind the scenes during the recording in the clip above.
