The big Swedish banks rise on the stock market in the morning. Nordea with 2.8 percent, Swedbank with 1.3 percent, Handelsbanken is plus 0.9 percent and SEB 0.7 percent.

Electrolux, which had a capital market day on Monday, rose by 3.6 percent.

Stock markets in New York closed higher, although the crisis bank First Republic plummeted by 47 percent. Since the turn of the year, the bank’s share has fallen by 90 percent.

Even in Asia, things look cheerful on the biggest stock exchanges. The Hong Kong stock exchange rises by 1.5 percent before closing and the Kospi index in South Korea closed at plus 0.4 percent. The stock markets in Tokyo are closed on Tuesday.
