As of April 1, the Stockholm Stock Exchange with its 900 employees will move from Frihamnen to Mäster Samuelsgatan 56 in the middle of Stockholm City.
It reports Today’s industry on Friday.
Moving to smaller premises
The new premises are significantly smaller. Frihamnen has 24,000 square meters of office space. But in City there will only be 8,300 square meters.
The reason for the move is, among other things, because they want to be closer to the big banks.
No big restaurant
The smaller premises are not a problem. Erik Gruvforspress officer at the Stockholm Stock Exchange, says that it has to do with more people working from home these days.
– The new way of working with office work and home offices has meant that our current premises are nowhere near fully occupied. The current premises also have a lot of public areas and a large restaurant, which the new premises will not have, says Erik Gruvfors for Di.
Want to be able to attract talent
It will be easier to report talent if you have premises in the center of Stockholm instead of in Frihamnen, which is a quarter of an hour away by car or taxi, the newspaper writes.
– We see how location is becoming increasingly important in attracting talent. At the same time, we are getting closer to Stockholm’s financial ecosystem and our customers. It also gives us opportunities to give our listed companies better visibility, says Gruvfors.
Stockholm Stock Exchange’s old stock market clock from 1798 will be allowed to move with it.
