To radio Jämtland, engineer Örjan Bergqvist says that they ended up in too shallow water and then stopped. At the time, the wind was strong and the boat became too windy.

The staff then tried to back away but it didn’t work, so the rescue was called. The passengers were later evacuated to a nearby pier.

They did not manage to get the boat off during the night, but the hope is that it will be able to be off now during Sunday.

According to radio Jämtland, there were 45 passengers on board.
