After years in the production phase, a first trailer for the new Shogun series from the US broadcaster FX was finally released at the beginning of November. Shogun is based on a novel from 1975, which was adapted as a series in 1980 with cinema legend Toshirō Mifune (The Seven Samurai). In the story of the new edition, the British navigator John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis) finds himself with a Dutch warship on the way to Japan. He ends up stranded on the coast and ends up as a prisoner in the court of the daimyo Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada from John Wick: Chapter 4). After he did that Trust of the mighty feudal lords and falls in love with the samurai lady Toda Mariko (Anna Sawai), he has to make a difficult decision in order to survive.
