When her sister Prim (Willow Shields) is chosen as a tribute for the poor District 12 at the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) voluntarily takes her place. Together with the male tribute from District 12, Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), she now faces 22 other teenagers in the arena and has to fight for their lives.
