In April 2021, she became the sixth fastest woman in history when she ran 100 meters in 10.72 seconds. Fast forward about a year and Richardson finished only fifth in his semifinal in the rock-hard American selection for the World Championships in Athletics at home in Eugene.
This will be the second big championship she can miss. After qualifying for last year’s Olympics in Tokyo, a drug test showed positive for marijuana and she was thus suspended from participating.
The 22-year-old is often involved in the sport’s news reporting – for several reasons. Her extravagant competition clothes, long nails, colorful hair and privacy have made her a superstar both on and off the running track.
