The star chef wins the Chefs’ Battle 2023

The revenge season of “Kokkarna kamp” has come to an end and two brave star chefs remain in the final. Danyel Couet and Daniel Müllern are first pitted against each other in three competition stages, where a medal is at stake in each discipline.

Even before that, Danyel has collected twice as many medals as Daniel, and the presenter Pär Lernström notes that one of them now has the opportunity to catch up in the medal battle – and the other a chance to pull away.

– At the first station it’s about opening fifteen pieces of oysters as fast as you can and in the second you have to peel fifteen pieces of lobster and in the last you have to beat a mayonnaise with a liter of oil and four eggs, Pär explains about the competition.

And it will be Daniel who takes home two out of three branches.

The final of the Chefs’ Battle 2023

The final step in the final is to put together a three-course menu, where the dishes must then be judged by the eliminated participants. In an hour and a half, they can cook whatever dishes they want, but the main ingredients in the basket of ingredients in front of them must be represented in one way or another.

For starters, Daniel prepares zander with a blue mussel emulsion, a ponzu with soy, ginger and jalapeño. For the main course, there will be roasted veal loin with thyme and browned butter, an asparagus potato cream, dill-roasted skewers and a Scanian dill cloud. And for dessert, there will be fried sponge cake seasoned with cardamom and lemon, together with a classic raw cream and lime-sweetened berries.

Danyel prepares wine-boiled mussels with fennel-encrusted pikeperch, aioli, silver onion, soy and baked garlic for a starter. For the main course, he makes fried veal loin in lots of butter with pickled artichokes, broccilini and a cloud. And for dessert, there will be a lemon flavored parfait, together with rhubarb, strawberries and vanilla cream.

Get revenge in the Chefs’ Battle

It will be an even final, but Danyel picks up the most points and is the first to reach 19 points – making him the winner!

– This is the most fun I’ve had in a very, very long time. What a group you’ve had to do this with, and what a final, says Danyel after the win.

And the tributes are pouring in from the colleagues who participated in the program.

– Danyel is a super worthy winner, we have competed in every single competition. He is the one who has made me better. I’m really impressed, says Daniel, who ends up in second place.

– Danyel has been insanely stable and damn good throughout the competition. And then he is a great cook, notes Isabella Morrone.
