The star is reported to have decided to return to Leksand, Swiss Watson reports.

After two seasons abroad, the Slovak is about to be without a club. As Swiss site Watson reports that Cehlarik’s contract with big club EV Zug will be terminated with immediate effect.

According to the information, it is Zug’s initiative to get rid of the 27-year-old and terminate the contract early. The forward has a contract with the club for another year but is now expected to be fired.

The site further writes that Cehlarik will return to Sweden again and play in the SHL. Where he will already agree on a return to Leksand again.

He did one season in Leksand in 2020/21 and quickly became a crowd favorite. That season was a great success in the scoring record and a nice 40 points in 45 games in the SHL.

So far this season, there have been 24 points in 38 games in the Swiss league, but it is clearly not enough for Zug. Since his time in Leksand, Cehlarik has also managed to dominate the WC 2021 with eleven points in eight games and won Olympic bronze with Slovakia in 2022.

But now it looks like it will be a fond reunion in Dalarna again for Peter Cehlarik and Leksands IF. If both parties come to an agreement, he will join already during the current season and become a very welcome addition to the team.
