Sunday’s bullfight in El Espinal in Colombia was drastically interrupted after the stands collapsed. Now the newspaper El Tiempo states that at least four people must have died and hundreds were injured in connection with the incident, at the stadium where both adults and children were. In connection with panic erupting inside the arena, the bull is said to have run out onto the street and created further chaos. Why the grandstand collapsed is still unclear. After the events, the newly appointed president Gustavo Petro tweeted, appealing to local politicians not to allow more bullfighting.
