According to the Free Union of Teachers and Researchers of Guinea, Mamadou Cifo Kè Touré, spokesperson for the victims, was preparing to leave the school when he was arrested by gendarmes just after crossing the gate of the establishment under the stunned eyes of his students, some of whom are among the victims.

The schoolchildren revolted. A video on social networks shows these young people in the school yard throwing stones at the gendarmes and dragging their classmates to the ground, visibly victims of discomfort due to the tear gas.

SLEGG trade unionists immediately went to the Kaloum gendarmerie where their colleague was being questioned, then to the prosecutor’s office of the court of first instance to find out the reasons for his arrest, which are still unknown to this day.

Since the explosion of the hydrocarbon depot five months ago, Mamadou Cifo Kè Touré has repeated that the State had abandoned the victims. Last week, his collective rejected aid from the government which had just announced an envelope of 860,000 euros for the victims. RFI tried unsuccessfully to contact the high commander of the national gendarmerie.
