England and Finland meet at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium on Sunday at 19:00. Live broadcast of the match on TV2, Areena and the app from 18:15.

On Sunday evening, the Finnish men’s national football team will face England, which is full of world stars, at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium. Huuhkajat is looking for its opening win in the Nations League from Sunday’s match, as the team has lost all three matches it has played.

In September at Wembley, Finland lost to England with a score of 0–2. Bayern Munich’s goal stick was responsible for both of England’s goals Harry Kane.

Kane was on the sidelines for Thursday’s match against Greece, which England surprisingly lost 1-2 at home. Greece, on the other hand, has won all three matches it has played and is now leading the B-League group.

The home team England played in the Greece match without their top player, but the head coach by Lee Carsley according to experiments have now been tried.

– We will probably play with a more traditional system on Sunday, Carsley told Urheilu.

According to Carsley, Kane and Jack Grealish trained normally with the team on Saturday.

Didn’t train in Finland

Usually, the away team practices at the match stadium the day before the match day. However, England ended up with a different solution, and trained in England instead of the Olympic Stadium before flying to Helsinki. The team arrived in Finland only on Saturday evening. Carsley and the topper Marc Guehi arrived from the airport directly to the Helsinki hotel in front of the media.

Carsley was asked about the reasons for the extraordinary decision.

– There is really no special reason for that. We trained on a good field in England. We were able to work on some tactical stuff and special situations, Carsley acknowledged.

According to Carsley, it is important for the team to get back to winning ways after the shock loss.

– It was quite challenging to play against Finland at Wembley, especially the first 45 minutes. Finland is quite dangerous in counterattacks. We respect them a lot. We have prepared for this match really well, Carsley talked.

Guehi was also on the same lines.

– Finland has many top players in the top leagues. Finland is a good team that showed character at Wembley. The match will be tough for sure. But we are confident and try to learn from our previous mistakes, Guehi chatted.

The English top performer’s first impression of Finland was positive.

– Helsinki seems like a nice city and the people are friendly. The weather is quite cold, but so is England.

Carsley explained his slip

Carsley also got to answer the British media’s questions about his comments following the Greece defeat. Brittluotsi let slip that he will hopefully return in November as the head coach of the under-21s. Carsley was named interim coach of the men’s national team in August, when Gareth Southgate announced after the European Championships that he would resign.

– There are no guarantees about tomorrow. I have invested a lot in coaching the under-21s. My plan has always been the same: to work as the men’s head coach for three national team camps and do my best.

At least a German has been rumored to be England’s men’s head coach Thomas Tuchel.
