The Speaker begins talks with the party leaders

On Monday, the speaker of the Riksdag, Andreas Norlén, will start talks with party leaders to form a new government, according to a press release from the Riksdag.

Norlén will, beginning in the morning, have individual conversations with all party leaders except the S leader and outgoing Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson. He had the conversation with her when she submitted her request for dismissal to Norlén.

After the so-called speaker’s round, Norlén will give one of the party leaders the task of probing the terrain for a new government. Moderate leader Ulf Kristersson is expected to receive that assignment. He has already started negotiations with KD, L and SD to get majority support for a bourgeois government.
