South African choreographer Dada Masilo was born in 1985 in the township of Soweto. Trained in classical and contemporary dance in Johannesburg and Brussels, she has made her way onto the international scene with her very original and Afro-contemporary reinterpretations of the Western classical repertoire, such as “Romeo and Juliet”, “Carmen”, “Swan Lake”. or “Giselle”.
