Police are still investigating the assault in Skellefteå after a young girl under the age of 15 was found seriously injured in a forest area last week. The new criminal classification is attempted murder and aggravated rape of a child.
New information also shows that the suspect boy has been known to social services before.
– There has been an incident about a year ago when he was suspected of attempted assault of an adult woman, says investigation leader Andreas Nyberg.
– I have now been able to take part in that investigation and it also appears that the social services have been informed of that incident, he continues.
Anette Stenmark, unit manager of the social services, can not comment on whether any measures were taken after the assault case from last year.
