The announcement comes less than a week after Benjamin Mendy acquitted of charges of rape and attempted rape. The British court also acquitted the 2018 World Cup gold medalist of six counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
The former Manchester City player has signed a contract with Lorient until June 2025.
