The magic of Christmas operates in this tale adapted from the Norwegian bestseller by Maja Lunde and Lisa Aisato which tells the story of a young boy in mourning who rediscovers the enchanting taste of the end of year holidays thanks to an unexpected encounter. All in a magnificent setting of winter landscapes, filmed by Cecilie Mosli with a screenplay co-written by Maja Lunde and Siv Rajendram Eliassen.
In this lovely Scandinavian fable, the cast is entirely Norwegian. The young Mudit Gupta, who had previously only played in a series in her country, plays Julian here, while Celina Meyer Holland plays her first role, that of the prodigious friend. Around them: Jan Saelid, seen in The King of Curlingand other actors in the country.
What is the plot of the film The Snow Sister ?
Christmas is coming and Julian will be 11 years old. This year, everything is different: Julian and his family are mourning the disappearance of his big sister, and the young boy has the impression that Christmas has been canceled… until the day he meets Hedwig, a little girl overflowing with joy, who loves Christmas. Julian then regains hope of having a real party, but notices something strange about his new friend’s house.
