Now a PL club is preparing a record bid for the Swedish star striker.
Alexander Isak has been the man of rumors for the past year and despite a goal-weak season, the big clubs seem to flock around the Swedish super talent. The 22-year-old had his big international breakthrough last summer, when he was perhaps Sweden’s best player during the European Championships.

Last season, there were only six goals in the league for Isak, who before that came from a season in La Liga with 17 goals scored. But despite that, he is according to information on, among others, Real Madrid’s wish list of potential future signings, and before Arsenal recruited Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, Isak was also rumored there.
But with Arsenal completely out of the picture, another Premier League club seems to really initiate the hunt for Isak. This is Newcastle, who are looking for attacking reinforcements, and with new, snooty owners as backing. The club has made several major acquisitions this window, and now it is hoped that Isak will be the next player.

On Tuesday morning, reputable The Athletic wrote about the interest, and now the Telegraph believes that the interest is so real that they are preparing a bid – which would mean a new transfer record for Newcastle. The Telegraph writes that coach Eddie Howe would like to bring in offensive power, and that it is an advantage that Isak can play in all three offensive positions.
However, Real Sociedad will not release the Swede cheaply, and Newcastle would probably have to pay sums around SEK 630 million to get rid of Isak – but there seems to be no doubt that Isak is at the top of Newcastle’s wish list.
