The small crowns lost the WC final after shivers

After first knocking out Latvia (6–1) in the quarter-finals and then crushing Canada 7–2 in the semi-finals, Sweden awaited a repeat of last year’s World Cup final.

Once again, the USA stood for the resistance, but unlike the WC in Germany, it would not end in a Swedish victory.

This despite Färjestad’s Elliot Ståhlberg sitting 1-0 in the first period and Brynäs forward Noel Nordh extended to 2-0 in the second in the power play.

In the final period, the USA increased the pressure and even though Noah Erliden stood on the podium for a long time in the blue and yellow goal. But just over halfway in, the score was broken when the USA reduced after Danny Nelson steered the puck in.

And in the power play, the Americans found an equalizer through Cole Eiserman.

Completely even and overtime and 3-on-3 games awaited.

There, Ryan Leonard took the opportunity to shoot 3–2 and the gold to the USA.
