The Småland native escaped the fire – but is now on his way back to LA

– It burns in Los Angeles every year, so we took it in stride at first, she says.

Rebecca Tarabocchia has lived in Los Angeles since she went to film school in 2018. She had just been home in Sweden on a visit and landed in Los Angeles the same day the fires started, January 7.

In the clip, she talks about how she found out the extent of the fires and how she and her friends evacuated.

– Now we have learned that it is people who light new fires and who throw petrol on those that are already burning. This means that it can start new fires just about anywhere and at any time.

Bad conscience

But despite that, Rebecca and her friends are now on their way back, after spending a few days in Solvang, a city north of Los Angeles.

– We sit here on a luxurious balcony and eat breakfast. It makes us feel guilty because our friends are left and are afraid that the house will burn down, she says.

She is now ready to go back and through her church in Bel Air will help people who lost their homes in the fires, while waiting for life to return to normal, with the filming, again.

– As long as my house is standing, I will do everything I can to help. My big concern now is that my church will be affected by the flames.
