Havva Dizdar’s skull was implanted in a surgery performed in a private hospital in Istanbul. Stating that her surgery was very successful and she felt good, Havva Dizdar said, “The pain that I have been suffering for years has finally come to an end. I am grateful to everyone who has helped me through this difficult process. We have completed the approximately 100 thousand TL required for the operation with the support of the Giresun Governorate and Giresun Municipality, especially the philanthropists. Now, even though I just got out of surgery, I feel much better. I believe I will be much better in the future.”
SKULL BONE LOST IN HOSPITAL
Reminding that her life was darkened after the surgery she had previously been diagnosed with Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM), Dizdar said, “While I was working as a nurse, I was diagnosed with AVM as a result of the examinations I had done due to the pain in my neck. For the surgery, Prof. Dr. O.O. I contacted him and he performed my surgery that turned my life upside down. I had a second surgery on my brain due to my AVM surgery. According to the reports of the neurosurgeon who performed a second operation, the bonewax substance used for bone bleeding was removed from my brain. I went for AVM surgery and my skull bone, which was removed in brain surgery, was lost in the hospital. He had facial paralysis due to the same surgery and I cannot close my right eye. Now, at least with the support of philanthropists, my skull bone, which was lost after the surgery, was replaced with a new skull bone made of titanium raw material.”
