The national ski team had a strange journey home from the ski WC.
When the flight was delayed due to an unexpected bus trip.

Skiing WC 2023 in Planica was a historic medal celebration for the Swedish national skiing team. Our blue-and-yellow WC heroes won a total of 12 medals during the championship and broke a new record.
The national team’s journey
Never before has the Swedish national skiing team won as many medals during one and the same championship as this year. Now the WC squad has landed at home on Swedish soil again, but the journey home still didn’t go as they imagined.

The flight from Klagenfurt, Austria was delayed because of a very strange and giddy bus driver, who didn’t have a very good grasp of anything.
– What should have taken 20 minutes instead took 90 minutes. Then I still think he dropped us off at the wrong place at the airport. It also unfortunately caused the flight to be delayed, says the long distance manager Lars Öberg for SVT Sport.
– He seemed sober but had difficulty orienting himself.

Frida admits
It was clear that something was not right with the bus trip to the airport and a concern grew among the Swedish WC riders. The national team skier Eric Rosjö reacted early that they were on their way to the ski stadium again, instead of the airport.
– I don’t know what he did. He went in the wrong direction anyway. I don’t know if they invented GPS in Austria yet or what is wrong, says Rosjö to the TV channel.

Also the WC success skier Frida Karlssonwho won four medals in Planica, didn’t understand anything and couldn’t help but laugh during the strange bus ride.
– It felt like we were going around in circles there for a while, says Frida in a statement.
