The 20-year-old gang criminal who was released from a Sis home in Uppsala on Sunday can be linked to “Husby’s Hyenor”, according to information to Aftonbladet.

The police contacted the Sis home to investigate whether the man should be wanted internationally, something they were not interested in, sources told Aftonbladet.

A man in his 20s was released on Sunday from a Sis home in Uppsala. He can, according to information, be connected to the criminal network “Husbys Hyenor”.

Documents from the social services show that the man was placed in the Sis home with the support of LVU, the law on the care of young people, because he is suspected of serious crime, exhibited aggressive behavior and did not manage his schooling.

The social service’s investigation shows that the 20-year-old has criminal contacts and that the risk of relapse is high.

According to information to Aftonbladet, the police contacted the Sis home to investigate whether the man should be wanted internationally after the release, something they were not interested in.

“Non-issue to call for internationally”

Hans Bouveng, head of department for the Sis home in Uppsala, says that he does not know the information.

– There are more than me who are involved in this, but the question could certainly have gone to someone on standby at a higher level.

But Hans Bouveng does not see any reason to call for the 20-year-old internationally.

– For us, it is a non-issue in view of the legislation. He is not sentenced to inpatient care but only placed in LVU. Had he been convicted it would have been a different matter.

Hans Bouveng says that the 20-year-old was released during an outing.

– It was a car that came by and took him.

“Management in the department”

Previously, the 20-year-old was in another Sis home where the staff, according to a judgement, felt that he ruled the ward and that the other young people looked up to him.

On one occasion, he is said to have incited a riot at the home where the youths refused to enter their rooms, used furniture as a pawn, threw fruit and made a mess.

After that incident, the 20-year-old was placed in the Sis home in Uppsala. The man has been assessed as having a high tendency to escape and has therefore been placed with the highest security rating in a department with a high level of security.

Previously suspected of high-profile murder

The freed 20-year-old has previously been suspected of a high-profile murder, in 2021, near the square in Husby Centrum where a 28-year-old man was shot to death by two masked men on bicycles.

The murder was captured on surveillance cameras in the city center, which enabled the police to identify suspected perpetrators early in the investigation.

The 20-year-old was later acquitted of the murder, while a then 18-year-old man was convicted.
