‘Shower makeup’: a wet effect look
After having featured beauty features reproducing sadness, if not tears, then skin oozing with sweat, TikTok users today seem to be fascinated by the wet effect that a moment spent in the shower can induce. As surprising as it may seem, it’s about doing away with the matte complexion and adopting shiny skin, subtly rosy cheeks, and slightly puffy lips. A shame for lovers of beauty. Still, the trend has gone viral, and tiktokers are now having a field day sharing their own variation of ‘shower makeup’.
Before going into practice, it is important to specify that this makeup trend has nothing to do with the beach or swimming pool effect that we have known for years. Huda Kattan distinguishes these beauties by the lighting of the shower, which is much more flattering than natural light, but also by the heat that emanates from a proper shower and which makes it possible to obtain rosy cheeks and swollen lips. To achieve that bold look, which Huda Kattan calls ‘the sexiest’, start with a glow primer. The idea being to ban any mattifying product from this new beauty routine. The professional then mixes her foundation with a moisturizer for a light and airy finish, and emphasizes the concealer, which must be lighter than her skin tone, with an emphasis on the forehead and chin.
