Week 28 every year, the Visfestivalen has been arranged in Stegeholm’s castle ruins in Västervik. Not even during the pandemic did they take a break. Instead, in 2020, they chose to broadcast the concerts on the web and give the limited places in the castle ruins to healthcare staff. And in 2021, fewer tickets were released due to the restrictions and the festival was once again broadcast online.

Now Visfestivalen believes that it is the oldest festival in continuous succession in the world.
– We have submitted this to Guinness and are now waiting for a little man with a suit and a notepad to check us, says Calle Åstrand, festival general.
